Born in Hialeah, Florida and raised in the Dominican Republic, Ayleen Perez has been calling South Florida home again since 2004. Ayleen took an interest in design from an early age and gradually became established as an authority in the subject relying mostly on word of mouth. In 2004 she returns to South Florida eager to get involved in Miami’s growing art and design scene. In 2007 she founded Funktional Interiors; without a lead, a dime or a contract, instead, she had a vision and a desire to see it come to life. Since then, Funktional has become a popular option for those looking for a functional and creative interior space at an affordable price. 

Company Profile

Our design model and philosophy is structured on the principles of Ergonomics and Clutter Control. As our lives speed up and urban architecture evolves to keep up with it, we find the rooms in our homes tend to become multifunctional. The basic principles of Ergonomics concern designing and arranging elements in a given space so that these elements and the people that use them interact most efficiently and safely. This application is what makes the space functional for the client's lifestyle. We believe clean and organized space is the foundation of a good design yet personality makes the space unique.   At Funktional we also design based on Feng Shui and Vastu Shastra practices, both ancient eastern systems of aesthetics and design that allow energies to move more freely in our homes and businesses and help enhance all areas of our lives.

Since its inception in the competitive Miami scene in 2007, Funktional has striven to create unique, personalized spaces for all budgets. We believe proper design is necessary, not a luxury.
